West River, Brattleboro. Yes, they have their very own Loch Ness monster. Not sure how Nessie feels about the recent vote in Scotland, she declined comment.

Two places to rest along the trails in Keene, New Hampshire. One temporary, the other long-term.

Visited Keene State College Campus. Lotta bikes here, most of the bike rack parking in town is actually on campus.

Downtown Keene, you need more bike racks. I ended up patronizing businesses where I could find a place to park my bike.

Also stunned that in a college town with so many gorgeous trail options: no bikes available for rental at local bike shops.

Nearest bike rentals available over in Putney. Putney, Vermont. Not that it’s far, it’s just that New Hampshire loses out on any revenue from that potential business. Glad I brought my Brompton.

Talk about multi-use trail. Not sure I’d want to mix it up with snowmobiles on foot, on horseback, on x-country skis.

Great trail. But I note that onus is on cyclists to deal with crossing at blind curves.

Seems to me safer for all if these crossings were treated like, well, crossings. As is, to get visible fix on oncoming traffic, cyclist must move out into roadway.

So does the trail cut through the roadway or does the roadway cut through the trail?
